Our Heads of Boarding kindly invited a year group to each House where they hosted a mini-party after prep on Friday evening. Fonthill's Head of Boarding, Jess, invited all Year 10s who enjoyed an increasingly competitive game of Scattergories and, after pizza and ice creams, a hilarious game of Heads Up! where they had to guess the word on the post-it note stuck to their head!
Year 9s and 12s appear to have had similar fun and played equally crazy games in Summerhill and Hall House respectively!

Teambuilding Challenges!
On
Sunday, our Year 9 and 12 boarders enjoyed a day in the Quantocks with
back-to-back mental and physical team building activities. In small groups,
they faced challenges such as Wall Build, Lava Crossing, Trebuchet and Tyralean
Tangle as well as archery, rifle shooting and a river crossing. It was a great opportunity
for pupils to spend time together and get to know each other, with many having
just joined Kingswood. They all returned exhausted but exhilarated!

Successful start to Autumn Term!
The new term got off to a great start for Fonthill and Hall House students as a group of 15 musicians and singers gave an exceptionally professional performance of 'Don't Stop Believing'. They were praised for their musicality and range of instruments and were thrilled to win this prestigious part of the House Music competition.
Almost 100 Fonthill and Hall House students showed impressive House spirit rehearsing over and over and over again for their performance of High School Musical's 'We're all in this Together' in the House Song section of the competition. Even though they didn't raise the trophy, they could hold their heads high after a very slick and well choreographed performance and it was lovely to see everyone having such fun.

Farewell Year 13s!
Year 13 students couldn't have hoped for better weather to celebrate their final few hours at Kingswood. The evening sunshine added to the already stunning Prep School setting for the Leavers' Ball and made for a very memorable occasion as we said goodbye to our Upper Sixth and wished them well as they start their next life chapter. We also said farewell to Miss Brookes who has been resident Assistant Housemistress in Fonthill during the last four years. She (and her dog, Rupert!) will be sorely missed but we wish her the best of luck as she starts as a Housemistress at Wellington College, Berkshire.

Congratulations to Medha and Lillie!
Winners of this year's House awards go
to Medha and Lillie!
'Wright Way' is for somebody who has trodden the right path and who goes that extra mile to help out; somebody who is pro-active, seeing what needs to be done before being asked, or somebody who acts with humility and not seeking the limelight. It is always a hard decision for Fonthill tutors as there are so many girls this could apply to. We decided to award it to Lillie who always acts in the right way, is unfailingly polite, has been hugely supportive of both peers in her year and across all year groups in the boarding house. She also received the second highest votes for Spirit of Fonthill award with many student comments echoing tutor sentiments such as 'she's always so nice to everyone' and 'is always approachable'. She was also a very positive role model for and very welcoming to new boarders who joined us last Autumn term.

Summer House Entertainment
Despite exerting themselves in the baking hot sun at Sports Day earlier in the day, it was lovely to see that all Fonthill and Hall students were still able to find sufficient energy to enjoy our annual end of year barbecue and outdoor games.
The limbo continued to be popular with tutors joining the queue this year and demonstrating impressive flexibility, but it was Pat who held on to her title of 'Limbo Queen' as friends had to hold the bar below the lowest notch!
