Fonthill Farewells!

We had an emotional final House assembly as we said goodbye to our Year 13 girls

As I said personal farewells, I enjoyed likening each of them to a Little Miss character which, I hope, they all took in good spirits!

Congratulations to Sophie for winning our Spirit of Fonthill Award, given each year to a girl who embodies the spirit of our House through her positive attitude towards House and School life, showing kindness to others, volunteering to help peers and/or staff, or willingly offering to participate in House events.  It’s your votes we count and comments we read – lovely to see so many different names this year across all year groups.  Third place was Cat with comments such as ‘she’s always so lovely!’; Second place was Peonie with comments describing her as ‘a great person who really cares about all the younger girls in Fonthill’ and also ‘really friendly and funny’.  However, in first place, with an overwhelming 71% of votes was Sophie who was described ‘always happy, positive and supportive’, ‘always involved in House activities and is nice to everyone’, ‘a great role model and always joins in everything’, ‘really nice to all and we all love her!’ and an ‘amazing Head of House’ !!!!
Congratulations, too, to Peonie for winning The Wright Way Award - given by Miss Wright to mark her time as housemistress in Fonthill. It is for somebody who has trodden the right path; somebody exceptional – not just acting in the right way because that is what we expect of all of you - but somebody who perhaps goes that extra mile to help out; somebody who is pro active – who sees what needs to be done before being asked; or somebody who acts with humility not seeking limelight or fanfare and  above all – in keeping with the Fonthill way – behaves in the right way with people.

Thank you House Prefects and Sophie and Nat for all your hard work over the year helping out with the smooth running of Fonthill.
Head and Deputy Head of House!

House Prefects!
We're going to miss you Year 13 but wish you Good Luck with your exam results and the start of the next chapter in your lives!

House Entertainment

Lots of fun in the beautiful evening sun with a range of activities and a very competitive inter-year tug-of-war in our end of term House Entertainment with Hall House!!

Sports Day - 3 July

We couldn't have asked for better weather - glorious sunshine but with a gentle breeze to avoid competitors overheating! Thank you to all girls who took part and showed true House spirit - it was lovely to see such a positive attitude towards the occasion, even by those who weren't feeling in super fit form! Congratulations to the Inter Girls who came first overall, to those who came first in their event and to Hattie who came first in all 3 of her events!  It was also very exciting to hear of many 'Personal Bests' being recorded, and School records being broken - Livvi succeeded in breaking both the Hurdles and the Long Jump Inter Girls records, Kate set a new Junior Long Jump record and Anna a new Junior High Jump record - amazing!!
