Busy Bees!

The following poem, composed by Head and Deputy Head of House, Cielle and Bella, summarises wonderfully just what a successful and busy term we've all enjoyed.  Well done, Fonthill, and I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

A is for the Advent Dinner, back a few weekends, it was a lovely evening spent with teachers and friends. I will remember the slick routine of the PR’s bow, for years to come, as well as just now.
B is for the year 10 and 11 ball, with most of the girls not looking so small! The girls’ stunning dresses and heels, added to the fantastic evening on top of the delicious meals.
C is for the Christmas Candy canes, sold in aid of our charity campaigns. Well done and thank you to all of year 12 who spent so much time, they managed to raise £1100 for the Little Princess trust and Nags and Nippers, which is just sublime! The money raised will benefit each charity greatly, as well as Cielle's kind donation of hair lately!
D is for the sixth form dinner, where the ‘Dixies’ were awarded and Amelia’s title of Happiest in the Dixon is to be applauded! The entertainment between courses was lots of fun and it really felt like the festive season had begun!
E is for goalie Emma's first goal scored, her taster as a forward we can really applaud!
F is for Fonthill, the best house to be in, the obvious house spirit means we’re in for the win
G is for the dreaded GCSE mocks, but hopefully now when it comes round to the real exams you’ll have them in the box!
H is for House Music at the beginning of the year, and singing and dancing to ‘party in the USA’ got us all a big cheer. Miley Cyrus clearly wasn’t a favourite of the judge, but I think our enthusiasm made him budge. A special mention must go to our ensemble of George and Grace, with their song written the same day, which was absolutely ace!
I is for our inter-house hockey matches, played with house spirit throughout, and thanks to all of you who came to give us a shout. Well done to all for achieving a clean sweep of victories, something not achieved in a long time in Fonthill’s history. It was clear to all that so much fun was had, and to win throughout we can all be glad.
J is for Jess who captained the year 9’s to their win, and also to Kelly in year 10 who led her team to do the same thing!
K is for Kingswood at 20 and Kingswood Remembers, a big well done to all the cast members! With so many Fonthill girls being involved, we hope to see many of you in productions that are soon to evolve.
L is for Leventhal, or Hattie to us, three great hockey seasons and full colours, a plus.
M is for music and the fantastic concert this week, ensembles and solos, showed that the talent throughout is at its peak
N is for netball which made a couple of appearances this term, with a massive well done to those in the Under14s, from which many of us could learn. We wish them best of luck at the regional round, go on girls, and make us even more proud!
O is for the outstanding performances in the GCSE devised pieces, mentions to Hannah, Liv, Sabrina, Jess and Emma, whose  talent never ceases.
P is for packing bags in aid of Hope and Homes, well done to all helpers who set a good tone.
Q is for Queen Sergeant who tirelessly helps us, an excellent housemistress, she’s a real plus!
R is for running in the cross country race, with a special mention to Louise who was rapid in pace
S is for swimming and the recent event, with excellent performances from Meg, Esmee and Charlotte who swam with great intent.
T is for the arrival of little Aiden Faux, over the next few years, we look forward to seeing him grow!
U is for the university choices being made by the year 13s, we wish them best of luck and hope that they achieve their dreams
V is for very cold during last night’s ice skating, but we hope you’d agree that it got a good rating.   There were many laughs to be had and it was all such fun, hopefully Miss Brookes doesn’t have too sore a bum!
W is for we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, let's round up this term with a bit of festive cheer!
X is for the Xmas holidays, deserved by all, let’s hope it gets seasonal with some snowfall
Y is for you, the Fonthill spirit’s clear to all around, let’s continue in this way and make sure 2015’s just as grand!
Z is for zzz, our needed break is just around the corner, we’ll see you in January when it’ll start to get warmer.

Triple Hockey Success!

Thanks to Year 10s also winning their House Hockey matches today, Fonthill has won all three competitions this term!  Well done everyone!

Secret Santa Time!

Christmas came early to Fonthill on Sunday night - lots of laughter filled the boarders' lounge as everyone opened a present from under the tree.
