Burns Night Celebrations!

At the end of a busy weekend, with Chinese New Year celebrations, Boarders' Bake Off competition and a Model United Nations conference in Bristol attended by many boarders, there was still more fun ahead with our traditional Burns Night Celebrations!  As always, in addition to the delicious fare which included 'neeps', 'tatties' and haggis, students loved the opportunity to try the bagpipes and then heading to the sports hall for the Ceilidh.

Boarders Busy Baking!

Last weekend saw the return of the annual Boarders' Bake Off competition.  Many hours were spent in the kitchen mixing and baking sponge cakes, following a set recipe, and then decorating them in line with this year's theme of sustainability.  Judges, 'Paul' and 'Mary', were impressed to see such creativity and very much enjoyed sampling each of the masterpieces.  The girls are now kept in suspense until this coming weekend when the results of this inter-House competition will be revealed!  Watch this space!

Adding the final touches whilst waiting for the judges' arrival!

Trip to Harry Potter Studios!

Great excitement in the House prior to heading off to Harry Potter Studios at the weekend!  Everyone loved the opportunity to see how the films were made and get an insight into a range of special effects, view original sets, take a walk down Diagon Alley, take a ride on Hogwarts Express, try on costumes and sample 'butter beer'!  Fortunately, everyone returned in one piece, and with a wonderful selection of wands and other Hogwarts accessories including chocolate frogs!
