Thrills, Spills and Spooks at Thorpe Park

In addition to shivers of excitement as girls were taken from 0-80 mph in under two seconds on Stealth, hurled forwards and backwards on Swarm, or 'dropped' from 100ft on Saw, there were screams of terror as students experienced a Halloween extravaganza at Thorpe Park.  They stayed late into the evening for 'Fright Night' which included a very scary maze and entertainers wandering through the park who had 'come back to life' to haunt all visitors! 

Congratulations to Fonthill Hockey players!!

A combination of strong skills on the hockey pitch and exceptional cheering from supporters led the Fonthill girls to victory in the House hockey competition!!  All matches were played to a very high standard and there was a particularly exciting and tense final few minutes as, after a draw with Summerhill, penalty flicks were required to decide the overall winner.  Players of the matches included Kelly who scored an exceptionally high number of goals, and Zoe whose amazing defence skills as goalie enabled Fonthill to win the trophy!

Circuit of Bath Walk

Year 9s and 10s enjoyed a lovely afternoon stroll in the Autumn sunshine as they took part in the Circuit of Bath walk, raising money for a charity supporting homeless people in Bath, Julian House.  Up hill and down dale meant it was quite hot work at times, especially when they found themselves having taken a wrong turn and accidentally walking up one particularly steep slope twice!

Smoothie Saturday!

Girls enjoyed an impressive amount of fruit tonight (well above their 5-a-day!), experimenting with different combinations to make a range of exceedingly healthy and delicious tasting smoothies!!

Pondering over Pictionary!

Despite some wonderfully talented artists in Fonthill, most of us were struggling to think of the best way to draw fiendish words and expressions such as 'stitch in time', 'crystal ball' and 'mother-in-law' during the Friday night game of Pictionary! There was much scratching of heads but also much laughter and fierce competition between teams!

DIY Pizzas!

Girls enjoyed decorating not only their own pizzas on Saturday but also the baking paper!

Year 9 Boarders' Camping Trip

Fortunately, the weather was kind to the Year 9 boarders for their camping trip to the Forest of Dean where they had all had lots of fun and games, and the odd dip in the water when kayaking!
