Congratulations to Olivia and Alix!

Winners of this year's House awards go to Olivia and Alix.

'Spirit of Fonthill' is given each year to a girl who embodies the spirit of our House through her positive attitude towards House and School life, showing kindness to others, volunteering to help peers and/or staff, or willingly offering to participate in House events.  It's the students' choice and this year it was lovely to see so many different people nominated across all year groups.  However, Olivia won the majority of girls' votes, being described as 'always wants to help everyone', 'is a great role model', 'is just like a sister to all of us', 'so, so kind and thoughtful to others in Fonthill' and who is 'so lovely and always cheerful; a person with true House spirit and who really cares'.

'Wright Way' is for somebody who has trodden the right path and who goes that extra mile to help out; somebody who is pro-active, seeing what needs to be done before being asked, or somebody who acts with humility not seeking limelight.  It is always a hard decision for Fonthill tutors as there are so many girls this could apply to; however, this year, we decided it should be shared.  Alix is someone who always acts in the right way, unfailingly polite and, in particular, works very hard behind the scenes - whether clearing up the kitchen or offering to cover for others on the washing up rota, and definitely goes the extra mile to help out without seeking the limelight.  As many of the comments from the girls' Spirit of Fonthill voting echoed our sentiments about Olivia such as 'unsung hero' and 'never acknowledged for her efforts' we, for the first time, felt it appropriate for the Wright Way to be shared as both Olivia and Alix embody the description perfectly!

Many congratulations, Olivia and Alix!!
